When I was a kid I read a lot. I didn’t, however, read a lot of kids’ books. Stephen King and Danielle Steel were my authors of choice. I know, I know that’s pretty diverse. I blame it on being Gemini and that whole dual personality thing and tendency to get bored if things stay the same for too long. See that’s why being a writer is so great for me. It gives me the opportunity to be someone else for a while, to live in their world, to look in their closets…and never get caught!
So now that I’m an adult, I write for teens. Maybe because when I was a teen I was so busy trying to be an adult that I missed out and want a do-over. Right now I’m hard at work on ghost stories – thank you, Mr. King. But I’ve included a little romance amongst the shivers and shadows too – thank you, Ms. Steel.
